By booking a room at the KI Dragonfly Guesthouse, you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions of your stay. We offer affordable accommodation to our guests so that you can have a comfortable and enjoyable stay on Kangaroo Island, without having to blow your budget on accommodation.

Budget accommodation, however, comes with compromise. The rooms do not have a private ensuite bathroom (unless you stay in Rori's Cottage). As a privately run accommodation facility, we are unable to offer 24-hour room service, or around the clock cleaning staff. It is imperative that you are respectful of other guests at all times.

This agreement is designed to ensure that every guest at KI Dragonfly Guesthouse has a memorable and comfortbale stay, and leaves the island feeling relaxed and happy.

Our promise to you

We will provide clean, comfortable accomodation, with excellent shared facilities for your convenience.

We will thoroughly clean the shared spaces once a day. That is, the bathrooms, toilets, shower cubicles will be cleaned after 10am each morning. The floor throughout is vacuumed daily, and mopped regularly. The kitchen will be checked for cleanliness, the dishwasher turned on and all tea towels and dishcloths replaced. Bedrooms will be vacuumed & mopped when vacated and on request for long terms stays^.

On arrival, you will find a clean and comfortable bedroom prepared for you. The bed will be made fresh for your arrival (please note that sheets are only changed for long terms stays - we don't do daily linen change overs), with a bath towel provided for each guest.

When booking direct, we will take your credit card details, but will not charge you until you arrive. We will request payment when you arrive, not when you check out. Please refer to our cancellation policy on the "booking" page.

In the kitchen, we will provide ample cooking utensils to prepare your meals, and you will also find helpful items such as oil, salt & pepper, plus other herbs & condiments, available for your use.

We will have supplies of non-perishable items on hand for purchase, if you arrive at the accommodation after the supermarket and restaurants have closed, and you have no food. (Please be aware that Kingscote, while the largest town on the island, is a small country town and has limited shopping hours.)

We will gladly offer advice and suggestions about how to best utilise your time on Kangaroo Island. While we recommend a minimum of 3 days on the island (7 days is ideal!) we appreciate that not everyone has this amount of time and we will make every effort to help you create the perfect itinerary for you.

^ Long terms stays refer to guests staying for periods of 7 nights or more

Your promise to us and all other guests

You will keep all areas of the guesthouse clean and tidy after use:

In the bathroom, this means you will mop the shower and remove all personal items from the cubicle when you are finished, and you will hang up the bath mat. You will wipe down the vanity and basin area after use. There is a mop and cloths provided for your convenience.

In the kitchen, this means that you will put all crockery and cutlery in the dishwasher and wash any pots and pans and return them to the cupboard for the next guest to use. You will wipe down any spills - on the stove top, in the oven, on bench tops and the table where you ate your food. Spills on the floor are also to be cleaned up. There are cloths, tea towels and paper towels provided for your convenience.

In the outdoor area, you will ensure that the BBQ & tables are cleaned after use.

You will not take food and drink into your bedroom.

You will smoke only in the designated (outdoor) areas only and dispose of your cigarette butts in the appropriate bin.

You will only invite people to the guesthouse who are not paying guests, between the hours of 5pm to 8pm. They are to have access to the kitchen, lounge and outdoor area only. They are not to access the bedrooms and bathrooms.

You will respect guests by obeying the 10.00 pm curfew and by not talking in hallways or banging doors when going to bed late, or rising early.

If you have children, you will supervise them at all times and not expect other guests to be responsible for their safety. Parents are to clean up after children, if they are not old enough to do this themselves.
